Wales sack manager Rob Page as Big Sam knocks

wales have sacked their head coach Rob Page after 3 years. Rob Page who was appointed in 2020 on an interim basis and given role permanently in September 2022, coaching Wales in Euro 2020 and 2022 World Cup.

Wales lost a Euros play-off final to Poland on penalties and were beaten 4-0 by Slovakia in a friendly this month after drawing with Gibraltar.

This comes weeks after Sam Allardyce decleared during their No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast that he would leave his job as a podcast host to manage the Wales team  if chance comes

No stranger to world football, Allardyce took the reins for England in July 2016, succeeding Roy Hodgson. However, his run would only last 67 days with the side before he left his post by mutual consent, when an undercover sting operation exposed statements made by the gaffer pertaining to The FA's rules on third party ownership.

But if the chance to manage Wales came along, the 69-year-old said that he would be willing to head back into the dugout at national level to guide the side to victory.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast with former Liverpool star Stephen Warnock and co-presenter Natalie Pike this week, Allardyce admitted that he would be honoured to step up to the plate if the opportunity arose.

Raising a question which had been sent in via Twitter, Pike asked: "If the Wales job came up, is that something that you would be interested in?" To which Sam replied: "The Wales job? Yes, absolutely. International football, it would be nice."

Pike added: "I'd like that because I think you'd still be able to do the pod," with Sam firing back: "Well, perhaps – it would depend on what they say. I've never been employed by the Welsh FA, if they don't like the pod then we'd have to kick it into touch. So, we'd have to wait and see, but yeah, it would be nice."

This is a still a developing story, more to come
